Locker "From This To That" Week: Day 2

Welcome to "From This To That" Locker Week: Day Two! Today I'm going to show how to alter a regular locker mirror into a pretty magnetic frame. I did this because my mirror was cheap and didn't work very well. I will also show you how to create the same products out of cardboard and magnets.

     Supplies I used:

  • Locker mirror (standard is 6 1/2 x 8)
  • Card stock (two 8" x 1" pieces, two 6 1/2 x 1" pieces, one 5 3/4 x 4 1/2" piece.)

I took the two 8" x 1" pieces and two 6 1/2 x 1" pieces then glued the card stock to the mirror edges. Then take the 5 3/4 x 4 1/2" piece and inserted where the mirror usually is. And Presto! You changed a cheap, store bought mirror into a beautiful handmade frame. Here is mine:

My friend +Sarah Ray created one simply by using cardboard. Instead of a mirror the cardboard was her base. She used all the same sized pieces but glued them onto cardboard instead of the mirror. This is a simple and inexpensive way to create a locker frame. The biggest difference between hers and mine is that she needed to add magnets to the back of her project. Here is hers, unfortunately it turned out sideways:

Thanks for reading today's Locker "From This To That".
